Dev Blog #34 – Changes Coming Soon
Hey everyone, Liz here for quick snippet.
Everyone is rather busy with the big day coming up and we’re all excited for the new players who will be joining us then.
Coming out of Early Access is going to bring changes, and one of those we’ve talked about internally is the future of the Dev Blog. As it stands, we will continue with a different form of the Dev Blog after launch, with the exact details still being worked out. We do know that this form will not be weekly but rather once or twice monthly with no set schedule.
That being said, Ilves has information on changes coming to Battlerite once we get to November 8th – updates to DLC, new bundles, changes to pricing and details on some shiny new cosmetics.
Patch 0.14.0.3 and the Pre-Season
Battlerite Pre-Season Coming Soon!
The Free to Play launch is right around the corner and with it begins a new season for Battlerite. We’ve decided to call this the “Pre-Season,” as we expect many new players to enter the Arena and it will take time for them to learn the game and for the matchmaking system to properly detect their correct skill rating.

Update and Patch 0.14.0.2
Patch 0.14.0.2 will be going live later today (Thursday, October 26th). Approximate downtime will be 1 hour, follow us on social media for updates.
Upcoming Changes
We’ve heard your feedback on Patch 0.14.0. We knew this was going to be a risky patch with several updates coming at once and at the same time we saw this as a last opportunity to try out some big changes in Early Access.
As we communicated in an earlier devblog on queues and games modes, we would be keeping a close eye on the reaction to the removal of Casual and be quick to act. We have decided to reintroduce the Casual Arena queue without further delay. Read more »
Hotfix 0.14.0.1
The following hotfixes have been rolled out for Patch 0.14.0.0.
- Fixed an issue causing players to disconnect from games. We will be monitoring this and rolling out additional fixes as needed.
- Fixed an issue where victories in Battlegrounds counted as a loss.
- Fixed an issue where chests did not properly display received items.
The “no dev blog” dev blog
Hello all!
I’m afraid I have the not-so-exciting news of letting you know that we do not have a prepared dev blog today. Last week, everyone in the team was hands on deck bug fixing and testing that we never got chance to prepare a proper dev blog as usual. You have our sincerest apologies!
As regards to when the patch will go live, our goal right now is to get this to you tomorrow (Tuesday 24th October). The only reason this would change is if unexpected bugs were to occur from us fixing other bugs (such is the way of game development /sweatdrop). In that case we may have to delay another day or two, but we will keep in touch with how things are going.
Pre-Launch Patch (Patch 0.14)
The Pre-Launch Patch, Patch 0.14, will go live next week (week 43), with the exact date to be announced early next week. Some bullet points may still change and a few values could also change before the patch goes live. Read more »
Dev Blog #33 – On Game Modes, Old and New
Game Modes
Today I will talk about game modes and what we want to achieve with some of the upcoming changes to Battlerite.
So far Battlerite has always revolved around Arena – 2v2 and 3v3, ranked and unranked. We’ve been trying out some brawls over the year – some more for fun than others – for experimenting with new mechanics and ideas. Read more »
Dev Blog #32 – More on UI 2.0
Hello and welcome to another Dev Blog!
My name is Katey and if you didn’t already know, I am the UI designer here at Battlerite. This week I’m here to talk about the new UI and why we designed it – and give you a sneak peek! Read more »
Battlerite Concept Art Contest
It’s been a busy year of Early Access, and as we’re approaching Free to Play, we’re looking for ways to thank you, our Battlerite community, for all of your input, your passion, and your dedication to this game. And what better way than to let you show us what you want?
Create a brand new outfit for Jade and if it’s our favorite, we’ll craft it – and make it free for everyone. Besides having their design placed in the game, the winner will receive a Legendary Loot Pack, five Creepy Chests, and the title of Art Warrior. Three runners-up will receive three Creepy Chests each and the title of Art Warrior.
Make sure to share your concepts with us on Twitter, Steam, and reddit – we want to know what everyone thinks of your idea!
You have until 23:59 CEST on October 27th to send your work to contest@battlerite.com – include your in-game name and make sure to name your outfit! Winners will be announced the following week. Read more »
